S.E.D. (Special Electronic Design) s.r.l. is an Italian SME with a consolidated know-how in high tech electronics design such as the development of Hardware using DSP with dedicated algorithms, Fpga and ASICs.

The company boasts in house advanced manufacturing capabilities on multilayer board on conventional and special substrates with particular reference to high speed transfer buses among processors. SED also operates as a Research Laboratory, named "Leonardo", authorised by the Italian Ministry of University and Research to act as Transfer Technology Centre oriented to research and applicable studies on the advanced technologies in order to increase the competitiveness of the Industries on the market. Awaiba

AWAIBA is a design house and supplier of CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxides Semiconductors) image sensors for specific applications. Awaiba, designs and produces image sensors for, among others, industrial inspection, medical endoscopy, automotive on board cameras, and high speed video systems. AWAIBA's rich intellectual property enables it to develop state of the art high-dynamic CMOS image sensors, high-speed image sensors as well as miniaturized image sensors.

BioRobotics Institute

The BioRobotics Institute is focused on interdisciplinarity by exploiting knowledge and technologies from various fields of engineering (mechanical, electronic, computer science, chemistry, materials, energy), and also transdisciplinarity, thanks to strong interactions with natural and social sciences. The Director of the BioRobotics Institute is Paolo Dario. The Institute is composed of about 150 persons (more than 90 are PhD students). The Institute's expertise covers different areas: the Surgical Robotics area, led by Arianna Menciassi, is involved in SUPCAM.

Medical-Ethical board

The Medical-Ethical board will be composed by two experts in the fields of gastroenterology and endoscopy who will be in charge of supervising the development and the results of the project from the medical point of view. This board will report on the above described aspects at the mid-term (M9) and at the end of the project (M24) and the reports will be sent to the EC (D8.2). The two medical experts that will be proposed as members of this board are:
